Mixed marriage in Morocco can be a quiet intimidating process since it requires many steps and documents which confuses foreigners and Moroccans alike. Marriage is such a happy event and it shouldn't be as stressful, with few tips and some valuable information from me you can have the heads up and make of your marriage process a smooth journey.
first, let's start with the documents needed from the foreign partner either male or female
1- Certificate of No Impediment:
this certificate is given at the embassy in Rabat, basically it proves that you don't have anything back in your country that would stop you from getting married in Morocco, bare in mind that in some embassies you have to pay for this document and for the next one in this list cash at the embassy in Moroccan currency.
2- Certificate of Nationality:
this certificate is also given at the embassy and it shows clearly what your nationality is. British citizens get a certified copy of their passport as certificate of nationality as their passport is the only proof they need, again for British applicants there is a fee to be paid.
3- Decree of Divorce
if the applicant was married before he applied to marry in Morocco then they need to bring a copy of the decree to present at Moroccan court.
4- Certificate proving job and income
the certificate should be stamped by the employer, in western countries such documents are sent only by email but it wouldn't be considered in Morocco, you want to make sure you have a stamp on your certificate. the length of your contract, how long you have been there, the hours your working, your monthly or yearly salary and any other information that proves you have a stable job that would allow you to care for your Moroccan partner.
5- Certificate of Residency
only if you live in a country other than the one you are originally from or if you are living in Morocco, so for example: You are British living in Britain = No need
British living in Canada = you need it a certificate.
6- Islam certificate
well this can be a tricky situation, since it's a Muslim country it is required for Moroccan women to marry only Muslim men regardless of their nationalities, if you don4t want to convert for real you can just play along until you get the certificate and then live your life as you wish, if your Moroccan partner agrees to this of course, the questions are normally easy and they are about the ABC's of the religion, your partner may help you with this side. if you are already a muslim you can get a certificate to confirm that you are already a Muslim, both certificates are delivered in Morocco from "Adouls".
7- Birth Certificate
you need the ORIGINAL birth certificate, don't worry you will be given all the original documents back, but you need to bring it with you to Morocco.
8- Certificate of no criminal records
this certificate is issued by the Moroccan ministry of justice and it proves that the applicant doesn't have a criminal record in Morocco.
9- Certificate of no criminal record ( country of origin)
This certificate is issued from your country and it proves that you don't have any criminal convections in your country, it can be issued by police, court or any other relevant authority in your country.
10- Medical certificate
this certificate is given in public and private practices in Morocco, all you need to do is to present yourself preferably at a public hospital with your Moroccan partner and ask for a medical certificate for marriage.
11- Copies of passport
The copies would be of the pages that has the stamps from each visit to Morocco, you need to have at least two visits on your passport before you can apply for marriage in Morocco, you should have met your partner in person for two times at least in person.
12- pictures
at least 10...
hope this helps...
